John grew up in West Vancouver, was part of the volunteer Fire Department in West Vancouver in the 1960's, moved to Cortez Island, and was living in Grand Forks the past 5 years. He loved his horses, and the space to ride every day which Grand Forks offered. Predeceased by parents Mabel and Charlie, brother Ken, nephew Gareth. He leaves behind wife Anita, son Michael, daughter Nicole (Dave), grandchildren Devon and Ryan, sister Mary, sister-in-law Leslie, niece Emily and nephew
