In Memory

Kathy Butts

Hi...Please find attached the 1999 obituary for my sister Kathy, as well as a couple of photos.
Kath lived her whole life in West Van, and loved it dearly.  She cherished her years at WVSS and all the friends she had there.  She also enjoyed being part of planning at least 2 of the class of '66 reunions over the years.
I know that Kath will be there in spirit at your 50th, and would love it if some of her friends could raise a glass in her memory (as well as for others who have passed away).
Have a wonderful time at the reunion!
Best regards,
Jocelyn Moon (Kathy's sister)

WVSS Class of 76

I have fond memories of Kathy from high school. She had a great sense of humour. I remember reading her obituary in the Sun or Province newspaper, I think I was between 39 -42 years old, so she passed quite young. Her Dad died while we were in high school from a sudden massive heart attack & I noted in her obit it said donations to the Heart & Stroke charity, so I wondered if that was a cause for her to pass as well?

Thank you Jocelyn, I have many fond memories of Kath, you and your parents; we spent quite a bit of time together.  She was a beautiful girl in every way.  I still think of her.

Cheers Kathy,  you are remembered!

Kathy and my sister and I played together a lot when we were small kids. She was a sweet intelligent person. Her Mum was a most elegant and interesting woman. Cheers, Kathy

Kathy lived around the corner from me on Sinclair Street (I was on Gordon Ave) so we would hook up and walk to school together. I have a recollection that she too owned a Studebaker (as do I) so we had lots in common. She always had a great sense of humour and was a class act. As stated by Terry, I also believed she was taken by a stroke and at the time was very surprised due to her very young age.

We miss you Kathy,

Cheers, Bill Ozzard
